Potato Candy

When I posted about making potato candy. I have had some people tell me that they have never heard of it .
Its a real easy recipe. Rather a little messy to make but well worth it I found a video on UTube on how to make it. I figured I would share that with you instead of  trying to explain it. How to make potato candy
Just a fair warning. These 2 ladies will probably have you dizzy by the end of the video....lol

Soooo Much in So Little Time

Good Evening Everyone! I haven't realized it has been that long since my last post. I have sooooo much to share with you. I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll start off with some home made cookies. I made some cinnamon oatmeal cookies( which are my hubby's favorite cookie) and potato candy. I'll post the recipe tomorrow for theses.

I just love this little plate I found in Wal Marts clearance section.  I wish they would of had more.
Then on Saturday my daughter Nikki's friend was having a birthday party and ask us to make her some sushi. So hubby cooked the rice for me and a rolling I went. I made 90 pieces of sushi. We made California and Philly rolls.
Don't they look yummy? I could just eat this all the time. I'll have to do a post soon on how to put it all together. It really inst that hard to make.

Finally I did something to get me a little more in the Halloween spirit. I dyed my hair Midnight Star. Its a violet soft black. Its just easier to show you the picture than to explain it.

My hair use to be light brown with blonde highlights. Not anymore!...lol

I'll post more tomorrow. Until then Have a Blessed Night!

Crafting My Little Heart Out

This weekend I was a little busy doing some crafts. I was giving some bowls and a basket a new look and making a few goodies from scratch.
Here is a batch of bowls that I gave a black primer coat to. I got a really good deal on the smaller wooden bowls at the Salvation Army. 10 bowls for $1.00. Couldn't beat that deal. I have had the larger wooden bowls for a little while and just finally figured out what I want to do with them.
I painted one of the smaller wooden bowls a burnt orange but it still isnt finished yet.
I also painted one of the larger wooden bowls a moon yellow but still again it isnt quite ready.
I wonder what I could be making with Styrofoam balls and Rigid Wrap. I also used some tea dyes cheese cloth and black buttons. Have you figured it out yet?
I made some mummy heads. Aren't they about the saddest things you ever seen?...lol
Here is the Rigid Wrap I used to wrap my Styrofoam balls with but I also took some aluminum foil and lined an outside of a bowl with it  and made this bowl also using Rigid Wrap.
Im not quite finish with this either. I have a lot of work to do to it. I have to tell you if you havent worked with Rigid Wrap before. You have to try it. It is so neat to work with. I also poked a hole on each side of the bowl for a handle.
Here is a before pic of a basket I am painting. I just love baskets that you can hang on the wall,
Here is the basket getting a fresh coat of True Burgundy. I have a few ideas for it but I havent quite decided which one I want to do. I guess your going to have to just wait and see.
My last project that I am also work on is making some corn on the cobs. I couldnt resist the pattern on the fabric when I saw it. I just knew I had to make some corn on the cobs with it. They are so just darn cute!

I would also like to announce that I have added a page to my blog just for recipes. I will be trying to add recipes everyday.

A Spam Challenge

My dear Friend Lisa at The Moonlit Stitch has made a spam challenge. Let me tell you I grew up on Spam and I haven't eaten it since I was probably about 16 years old. My mother use to make this casserole with it. The recipe belonged to my grandmother. Now that tell you how long Spam has been around.

Lisa gave you a recipe challenge. Well Im going to add another challenge to that list. Here is my Grandmother recipes she use to make with Spam.

Picnic Casserole

1- 8 oz box macaroni
1-10oz can of cream of mushroom or celery condensed soup
1/4 lb of processed cheese (grated or cut into squares)
1 c. milk
1 Tbsp each, chopped onions and chopped peppers
Can of Spam, cut into 12 slices at 1/4" thick

Directions:
Cook macaroni as directed on package and drain.
Combine soup, milk, chopped onions and chopped peppers in a pan over low heat.
Add cheese, Stir occasional until it's all melted.
After cheese is completely melted
Add the drained  marconi to the cheese mixture and mix well.
Pour half of the pasta mixture in a 1 1/4 qt casserole dish and spread evenly.
Top with 6 slices of Spam , then add more mixture on top of the Spam, then add remaining Spam on top.

Bake at 325 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the sauce is boiling.

There you have it!

Bon Appetit!!!!

Tole Painting

I have always wanted to try tole painting. I recently joined Tole Town to learn how to paint. They have such cute things there and some good tutorials on how to. I have learned so much just from watching and reading.
The other day I actually tried to paint my first piece. My only problem was I forgot to take a pic of what it looked like before but here is a picture of what it looks like now.

I guess it isnt too bad for my first try. I did make a lot of mistakes. My poor crow isn't suppose to be that chubby.
I wish I would of taken a before pic. It was really ugly. It was white with pink and blue flowers. Im not a blue and pink kind of person. As I continue to venture in my journey in tole painting. I will be posting pictures of my projects.  I will remember to take before pictures the next time.
