I have been having a hard time trying to get a feel for what to put on my bookcase shelf. So as I was going through somethings that I pulled out of storage. I began to place things on the shelf that I liked but something still felt like it was missing. So I took my small plate off the shelf and laid it on this metal plate that use to be gold( Got it at the Salvation Army for 25 cents) but I just painted it burgundy a couple days before hand. I wasn't even thinking about iit when I placed the smaller plate on it. When I came back into the room and looked at them, It was like they were meant to be. So I hot glued them together and place it on my shelf and it was the missing piece I was looking for. So that is how two became one.
